Instagram


Most of the youngster like taking photos with friends, making selfie or take photos before they eat.  Everything happen in their life, they would like to take a snap shot or picture to share with their friends or get more attention from others act just like a photographer.  So where the youngster usually post their pictures and how they deal with it? 

 

Nowadays, Instagram (around 150 million users) is the most popular photo media platform for the youngster to post their best pictures.  It has a whole bunch of interesting photo filters that users can apply to instantly transform any photo into a work of art and pretend being a professional photographer.  Instagram is a visual sharing platform, every user profile has a “Followers” and “Following” count which represent how many people they follow you and how many other users are following you.  With the smartphone, users can simply upload their photos into Instagram with the hashtag (#) in the keyword so that people can search it by name and those photos also can be shared in the Facebook and Twitter too.  As per the big usage of the photos sharing in Instagram, the photos with a simple message that might evoke the other users in Instagram.  By posting the photos, it might a good channel or opportunity to generate buzz and better engagement to the potential event attendees.
 
Most of the companies or organizers they saw the growth of the Instagram social network.  They are finding the way to how to use Instagram to draw the support from the users to make their event success or more people to know about their products through the sharing. 

A global community “Startup Socials” using Instagram to show their “Startup Social Spring Mixer 2014” event. Organizer created a collage of various happy attendees’ photos present and after the event.  It was a good way to show Instagram users that the event can provide a truly valuable networking experience through “Startup Socials”.
 

 
Live Events
Reading the news from Fortune.com (Kokalitcheva, 2016), Instagram now is curating videos about live events. The photo-sharing network Instagram begun to connect the event live video together with their Instagram platform and it has been nominated to be an official Instagram account of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and the Golden Globe® Awards.
 (NBC Universal, 2016) stated the Golden Globe® Awards has been viewed in more than 236 countries worldwide and are one of the few awards ceremonies include motion picture and television achievements. From the 2016 telecast saw an upward trend in digital and social media statistics.  Instagram has 11 million users globally participate in 34 million interactions relating to the awards show.  It introduced how the celebrities and fans on Instagram to celebrate the Golden Globe® Awards. The debut of this feature provided users a real-time look at moments as they happened.

 





In fashion industry, we found that New York Fashion Week has changed their traditional demonstration style.   They turned the fashion show step off the runway and onto Instagram now.  In 2011, Oscar de la Renta and his peers were taking picture for the backstage at Fashion Week and the platform’s involvement was pure luck. A fashion and art community leader Kristen Joy Watts who spotlighted the creative fashion houses, off-duty models, professional photographers, bloggers, and tastemakers are using Instagram to transform their power to inspire others.  Therefore, her team started to manage Instagram's fashion and lifestyle to be a partnership later. 
Now many fashion companies are seeing Instagram not just a place to promote their brand also can advertise their products as well.  Instagram’s first ad launched was in November 2013 with Michael Kors and then more fashion companies like Levi’s, Macy’s and Burberry were following their way to promote the products in Instagram. 

A British retailer Topshop broadcasted their fashion show SS15 show live on the Instagram.
Topshop created their first “Click-to-Buy” button in the Instagram for their Unique SS15 collection.  Those people who cannot join the fashion week event in London still can buy the Topshop piece immediately in their online topshop.com.  The consumers don’t have to wait for weeks to view with the fashion week catalogue.  The way for this live-stream Instagram show inspired the consumer to do their shopping in another way and also attract the blogger to leave more messages in the Instagram to stimulate the Topshop sales revenue for future.
